XP: Anyone ever have lyme disease?

My DH found a deer tick on him over a month ago and the area around where he got it pulled out still hasn't healed. He also has been getting a tingling feeling in his legs and yesterday his joints started hurting. He has no idea any of these things are symptoms of lyme disease, but I made him get a test for it this weekend.

The Dr just called and said the lab that tested his blood is having technical troubles and they still don't have the results.

Do you think he should just get the antibiotic for it? I mean can it really hurt.

Also, did you have any of these symptoms. TIA

I had Lyme disease when I was younger. I was achy and fluish for a few weeks after a trip to Wisconsin with my family and then got this weird rash. Hopefully your DH feels better quickly!

Sounds like lymes.  Make sure you get a diagnosis.  It really needs to be treated.  Unfortunately it gets worse without treatment.  GL

I had it. I was just very tired, had headaches, and a fever. I never saw a tick but did have a bug bite and a red bulls eye around the bite area. When I went to urgent care, they gave me the antibiotic immediately. I needed a second dose of antibiotics because my headaches returned and I called the Dr. I think I was on the medication for about 28 days. I would definitely get the antibiotics.

A year or two ago I found a tick on me. ?I pulled it out but the head got stuck. ?A few days later, it had the bullseye effect going so I went to the doc. ?Because it had literally on been a week since I found the tick and the bullseye just showed up, she decided to go ahead and treat me for lyme's rather than risk a false negative with the bloodwork since it was so early. ?I took a course of antibiotics and have been fine since. ?
