Major TMI: Nipple leakage while pregnant...

EEKK...I'm just here nesting and noticed a round wet spot on my t-shirt what appears to be coming from my nipple.  I noticed this yesterday from the same nipple and this morning as I was about to get in the shower from the other one.

It is completely clear and has no smell/odor whatsoever.  They aren't cracked, dry or any thing like that and this is completely out of the blue.

Has any one else experienced this during pregnancy, especially this early?

Is this something I should be concerned with?

Does this indicate some thing about my future BF?

  • Absolutely 100% normal. It's colostrum, the early BM. According to the BFing class I took, you have the ability to produce milk as early as 16 weeks. Some women leak colostrum and some don't. It has NO bearing on your future BFing and isn't anything to be concerned about. Might be a good idea to invest in some breast pads, though, just to avoid the embarrassment.
  • HA:) I posted this same thing 4 weeks ago and it has not stopped. It's normal I am told:)

  • It's colostrum and completely normal...I had a breast reduction 10 years ago, I don't "leak" but I can express a couple of droplets of the same fluid.

Luckily so far it's only a tiny bit and I only notice it when I'm home with no bra on.  Glad to hear I guess that it's normal but quite embarrassing! Embarrassed

  • I called my OB to ask what they thought.  For any one wondering, she said it is rare this early but normal.  To let them know if it becomes much more frequent, changes color, has blood in it.  And to "not mess with them"...then she laughed!  Yes, like it wasn't embarrassing enough to ask!  She said because then my breasts might think the milk is needed right now.  DH was not happy to hear this story in general...but especially that last part! :)
