Update on my friend....

For those of you who sent your thoughts and prayers yesterday, thank you! Yesterday was a roller coaster of emotion, to say the least. At 1110 am, Abigail Kay came into the world via emergency c--section. She was 28 weeks gestation, however measured 25 weeks. She was 1lb 8 oz and 11 3/4 inches long! She is a fighter! At 2 am this morning they took her off the ventilator, because she DIDN'T NEED it! What a blessing!!!!! She is beautiful....and soooo tiny! My friend is scared, and recovering herself. More prayers will be needed through this uphill climb! Thanks again to everyone. God Bless you and your babies!

Oh I'm so HAPPY both mom and baby are doing okay right now. She certainly is a tiny one. My coworker had her baby at 1lb14oz and she is just fine now, out of NICU and home so it's definitely possible! I'm still sending thoughts and prayers their way.

That small, and not needing the ventilator. That is astounding! Your friend and her amazing little baby will be in my prayers.

So glad to hear that she's doing well!!! I know first hand how scary it can be to have a preemie. Your friend definitely has a long road ahead of her and it will be tough but I'm sure everything will go great!!! At our NICU there are photos all over the walls of babies who were born at just over 1lb and then photos of them now all grown up and healthy happy children. It's definitely inspiring! Those NICU Dr's and Nurses are wonderful and I am sure they will take great care of your friend's beautiful little girl!
