what to pack for lunch for 8.5 month old for DC????

he's not interested in the jar baby food any more since we have started giving him some finger food at home.  I sent a grilled cheese cut up in small pieces today, but obviously can't send that every day for his lunch.  any suggestions?

  • Black beans have been a hit in our house. You can serve them right out of the can (drain and rinse them to keep the mess under control).  My son also LOVES refried beans (which aren't really fried...).

A hard-boiled egg is also an option (or just the yolk if you're worried about allergies).

My son would eat Cheerios all day, every day if we let him...

Quinoa - it's high in protein... may be a little messy, but no real choking risk.

  • DD loves the Pasta Pick Ups by Gerber and the Little Meat Sticks Turkey and Chicken and Hot dogs Skinned and chopped up small.. i would also make meat balls and chop them up small for her too and Chicken Fingers cut up small or fish sticks cut up small she loved them!! and green beans and carrots!
  • I send a lot of mac and cheese and because she's not a great veggie eater, I'll mix in some jarred veggie purees so she's getting something healthy in there too. I also do hummus and crackers, which are broken up into little pieces, string cheese, fruit cups.
  • How about sweet potatoes?  I cut them up into small cubes and either bake them or steam them.  DS loves them.  Or I get babybel cheese and cut it into small pieces.
