did i hurt baby's ears? volcano show in vegas

This weekend i went to las vegas for a convention, anyway my DH and I went to the volcano show in front of the mirage, and i didnt know it would be that loud or hot! I then realized baby was moving/kicking reacting to the loudness of the explosions! I was scared, and still am that maybe it was way to loud for baby? can it hurt his ears? Might sound silly but baby was moving so much like he/she was scared...

?

Thank you in advance...?

  • they are startled by the unfamiliar noise but you didn't hurt his ears.  If it didn't hurt yours it won't hurt his.  You have plenty between him and the sounds to muffle it.  You're both fine.

  • I always heard that if the sounds are loud enough to hurt the baby's ears, then your ears would be in excruciating pain--if it didn't hurt your ears, I'd say the baby's ears are fine.

Just remember: your baby is protected in a lovely water-filled, cushioned environment.  I am confident that the baby's ears are A-ok.

  • DH and I went to a Depeche Mode concert about 2 weeks ago.  Baby was definitely bopping along to the music with me.  I figure if I can still hear, baby can still hear.....

  • your baby's fine, don't worry about it.
  • You could always buy earmuffs for the tummy if you are concerned in the future :-)

But i'm sure LO is fine!!
