I'm starting solid and want to make sure I'm doing it right. I started with fruit once a day around 5months per our Pedi' suggestion to help DD's BM...

We started rice cereal once a day a few days before 5months.  Then we started oatmeal and still do either.

We did once a day forever.  Some days now I do twice a day, but haven't committed to doing htis while he is at daycare.  So he gets about this much per day:  12-16oz at daycare and then BF for another 15 or more during the night (wakes up several times at night).  And he gets one or two jars of baby food or one jar of baby food and a few tblspoons of rice cereal or oatmeal.

We started sweet potatoes at about 5.5 months and now he has eaten earth's best carrots, sweet potatoes, apples, chicken dinner, turkey dinner.  I pureed some bananas for him last night.  He is wanting to eat more and even ate some tiny bits of chicken from my dinner the other night.  We always wait a few days to check for allergies.
