Success after IF

Repeated fungal diaper rash

Jacob gets those fungal diaper rashes that look like he has little pimples/whiteheads around his little butt hole. The pedi said lotrimin and butt paste a couple of months ago. It went away, but then came back and lingered for weeks. I noticed over the weekend that it was gone and then today he's got a bunch more little pimples. We've been applying lotrimin and butt paste this whole time. Should I call the pedi for a prescription antifungal? Any other remedies? He doesn't seem bothered by it...he doesn't cry with poos or diaper changes.

Re: Repeated fungal diaper rash

  • You may want to call and get some Nystatin cream. When DS had a yeast/staph infection, our pedi told us something interesting and said that you should still put cream on the area one week after it stops being red because the bacteria is still present under the skin. I am guessing the same thing applies with fungal rashes too. Good luck!!!
It took over four years to be diagnosed with PCOS. We TTC #1 for 18 months, did 5 rounds of Clomid and finally moved onto IVF...which worked! Throughout our IF journey, we suffered 3 miscarriages. We conceived both DD and DS without treatment.

  • Sounds like a typical fungal rash, you could try Monistat (that's what they have me using for Thrush)
