2nd Trimester

Thanks for prayers kind words during this hard time...

DH and I were blown away by the quanity and quality of kind words you all lended to us. It might seem like a small gift - but every little bit of support we get really helps. It has been incredibly hard to make the decision we have- but we feel it is what is best for our daughter.

I will continue to post our story as it progresses if you all wish. I understand if it is too much of a downer if you don't. It is your choice...  so please let us know.

Thanks again!

Re: Thanks for prayers kind words during this hard time...

  • I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I know a 20 year old girl that had the same thing (I'm pretty positive) and while she is missing an arm and has bands around her legs (but still has feet etc) she is a college soccer player.

I pray that you guys make the decisions you need to for you and your little girl and I pray God will comfort you during this hard time.

  • Oh my goodness...I can not even begin to imagine what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. If you haven't looked already, there are tons of wonderful ladies on the MC/PL board. They helped me get through a miscarriage back in October...something I'm not sure I could have done without them. I will be thinking of you.

  • Your family is in our thoughts and prayers!
  • I am just heartsick for you.  We, too, had to deal with an amniotic band, yet my LO beat the odds (the band left him alone).  I don't mean to say I can relate to what you are dealing with.  I can't.  But we, too, were educated on what might transpire.  Total hell for parents to deal with.  I am thinking of you and am so sorry for you and your family.  I am just crushed for you.
  • I'm so sorry for your loss.  You and your DH have made a selfless decision though, as hard as it may be.
  • I am so sorry for your loss. You and your DH are so strong. I will be praying for you and your family. I am in the Sac area as well and am here if you ever need anything.
  • I am so sorry.  You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers.

  • I missed your original post, and just read it. I'm so sorry and hope everything goes as well as it can. I think most of us would like to hear updates, I know I would at least. It is sad, but we want to support you too.
  • Again, I am so so sorry, but I think if you choose to share your story of strength, it would be appreciated by many.  Hang in there.

  • I just read your op. I am so very sorry for your loss. I hope somehow you and your husband are able to find peace. I will say a prayer for you tonight.
  • I am so sorry that you are dealing with this. I can't even imagine your grief and pain. But I wanted to say thank you for sharing your story and drawing attention to this fetal condition. Before your post, I had never heard of amniotic bands. Hopefully your story will help others going through the same thing.

All the best to you and your family in this difficult time. I hope you are back here again soon.
