time to increase zantac?

reflux mommies, how did you know it was time to call the doc about increasing LO's zantac?

avery had been doing really well, no more screaming when she ate, no more spitup...but the last two days she is having a harder and harder time eating.  she gets upset while eating, pulls, arches, screams...

well i guess i answered my own question.  the only thing she hasn't started doing again is spitting up.  she's probably gained a pound and a half since it was prescribed.  is that enough of a difference to need a new dose?

Re: time to increase zantac?

  • I don't have an answer since DD has only been on zantac two weeks.

But I think it was MrsReem who responded to one of my posts and said that the dosage has to be carefully monitored in regards to weight. So I would guess a pound and a half is enough to make a difference since the weight of an infant isn't much when you think about it!

  • I've been wondering the same thing - Toodle has been very fussy the last couple days, most since he started the zantac, and I wondered if he needs his dosage increased. He's probably almost 2 lbs heavier now (he gains almost a pound a week still).
