I am currently trying to get through Ferber's book (taking forever because seriously..who has time to read with two babies!). I don't really have sleep issues at night, but naps are still a nightmare when I am trying to get them both down myself. They have come to rely on rocking, patting and rubbing to get to nap and at times fight the nap pretty hard. What is the "pick up put down" method (I think I got that right). Is that something that can be explained and implemented or is it another book I will have to get through before trying? I work in the schools and am going back to work in september and really thought I would have this nap situation sorted out by now...stressing big time!
Re: sleep training help-desperate!
I think pick up/put down is from The Baby Whisperer? Have you tried Ferber yet? The basic premise is that you put them down and go back into their room in intervals that are outlined in the book. I was able to try it after reading just the first few chapters and it really worked for us.
Are the babies in the same room? I don't remember if there's a part in the book about two babies.. I'm not sure how you would handle that.. I guess you'd have to go into the room at the same intervals for both babies.
It's good that they go down at night!
