Nurseries and Baby Gear

Are you in love with your bedding? Need opinions!

We purchased the bedding for our nursery and now I'm not sure if I really like it!  The price was incredible but I don't feel "thrilled" with it.  Our nursery isn't put together yet so that might change my mind but I feel like I spend endless hours looking for a set that I like even more.  The only problem is that everything that I find is so much more than the set we currently have and I don't know if I can justify spending the extra money.  A baby really won't be able to like or dislike the nursery (and this is the last baby so we won't be using it again with another child)!

Here's the bedding that we currently have:

What are your honest opinions?  Our walls are currently painted a sage green (same color as the dark green in the leaves).

Any other bedding sets that you have (for a girl or gender neutral) that you would recommend?

Re: Are you in love with your bedding? Need opinions!

  • We went with the same bedding as you.  Like you, we didn't want to spend extra money and I really like the matching fitted crib sheets and the bumper, but I don't like the comforter for the set.  I found the Mod Pod Garden quilt that I like better at Babies R Us and I think it matches the crib sheets, etc. from the Brown Flowers collection.

Just a suggestion if you're looking for something with similar colors, there's the Cocalo Ala Mode crib bedding set.

Anyway, hope it helps! Good luck in your search!

  • I think it looks precious!  We spent probably the equivalent on our bedding that we bought after we returned the first bedding set that we themed the room on.  We were really disappointed not only in the quality (it came defective) but also with it's appearance.  So after we returned the defective one we decided not to go out and buy the same set again (hoping the new set wasn't going to be defective too).  We went out and bought Carter's separates that were neutral and went with the room (our room is yellow and green neutral - with frogs).  And we are so happy with that decision we made.  It looks great, and was so much more affordable than the set we had initially picked out.

I say go with your gut instinct on it.  It's good that you are realizing or questioning it now, a little late to do it after the baby is born and then you're "stuck with it" whether you like it or not.  Good luck! What ever you choose I am sure it will look great and be perfect for you and your baby's room.

  • I like the bedding you've picked.  The price is unbelievable.  Is the quality good?

If you don't like it, then I think it would be possible to find something else cute that would go with sage green walls but I definitely don't know if you could find something as cute in that price range.

  • I think it's adorable!  There are many cute accessories that you can add to the room to make it more of what you want.  Especially knowing this is your last child, don't bother spending anymore.  I say make the best of it, you can always change the comforter later if that's the part you don't like.
  • I think it's cute!  We have the bumper, and our sheets are by Carter's from BRU.  You don't need the comforter, since there's really no use for it.

  • I felt like I looked forever before I finally bought my bedding (Stella from Pottery Barn Kids). I was in love with the Dwell Robin Motif bedding but it was way too much money and I liked the PBK colors and got a good price. I think I could have looked forever and kept second guessing myself.

I like the one you picked and think it will look beautiful with the green walls. I bet once you see the whole room together, you will love it.

  • I think it is really cute.

I was the same way.  We found a set that we liked, not loved and bought it because it was being discontinued so everything was on sale.  Well later I came across a set at Pottery Barn Kids that I loved!  While the set was more, I'm sure it is better quality and with Pottery Barn Kids it seems like their sets kids can grow into.  They have the same set for a twin bed, so once she gets older we can just replace that, rather than having to redo the whole room, which to me justified paying a little bit more.  I'm glad I returned the set and now have one I love.  Now is only I wouldn't have had my husband paint the nursery yellow to go with the old set.  It matches the new set, but I would prefer sage with the new set, but I can't ask him to redo it.  Oh well.

  • I think that bedding is really cute!

I bought Carter's Elephant Stitch bedding from JCP and I really like it!

  • I fell in love with some very expensive bedding sets.  I was really torn between getting one I loved and getting cheaper bedding that was "ok".  The day I was going to order the "ok" bedding I found the perfect "in between" bedding.   It's not a set so I was able to only order the pieces that I wanted, even though those pieces were a little more pricey than the set I was looking at.  Baby bedding isn't really all that important in the grand scheme of things, but I'm glad I spent a little more to get the "look" that I really wanted for the nursery.

I love the bedding that we ended up with (Land of Nod's With a Flourish) https://www.landofnod.com/family.aspx?c=167&f=5588&pc=67
