I know a few people have asked about this recently so I thought I'd post my experience from earlier today...
I am 31w2D and have been experiencing some pelvic pressure. This is my first pregnancy so I mentioned it to the dr. just in case. She seemed to feel that I was measuring about 4 weeks behind. In addition to giving me a script for a growth ultrasound, she wanted to do an internal. Well, that was a nice surprise...but not terrible. Basically it was similar to a pap smear experience - this could be b/c she did insert a speculum and took a swab of something before the internal. She said this was b/c in the event she did not like the "feel" of my cervix that she would send the swab to the lab and they can tell 99% if preterm labor was imminet. she had to do the swab before teh internal b/c the gel would otherwise mess up teh swab results. Anyway, she insetered 2 fingers and felt around. That was really it. No more uncomfortable than any other time at the office.... Just thought I'd share.....
Re: First Internal today
I had FFN tests at 24 and 30 weeks myself all negative too.
