Ok, I'm a third time mommy, would you still register to get the 10% discount?

We are expecting our first boy (and will have 2 under 2).  I'll need boy bedding and a double stroller (at least) and would like to get a Bumbo, a new Boppy, and replace all of my old breastfeeding/bottle supplies.

Should I register at Babies R Us so I can "complete" my registry after he's born and get the discount?  Or is that horrible and I should be flogged for even thinking I can find a bargain?  TIA!

Do it, why not? I will do this. You can even put a sooner due date than you really are to get the coupon earlier.

I don't think that's a bad idea.  Plus, it's your 1st boy so you may have some close relatives or friends that will want to know what you need for him.  Good perspective....

We are already registered but they are offering a $10 gift card for new registers so i am getting my DH to sign up as a primary....10% or $10 it's all gotta help towards the new LO!!

Although I am only on our second child...I registered due to the fact of having 2 under 2 and that this one is a different gender.  It just so happens my mom is throwing me a "sprinkle" this time around.  I surprisingly need a lot of new things that either broke or are just plain useless after one child.

I don't see why not. Also, as pp said, put a sooner due date so you get the completion coupon sooner. People still might want to throw you a small shower, especially since you have girls and this is the first boy. Who knows.. but go for it!

I hope you don't mind if I copy.  I don't want to have a visible registry, though, so that people don't feel compelled to get us anything.  (This is our second, and we stored every big item, so we don't need gifts.)  I think I'll make our names hard to find somehow...

Seriously, thanks for the great idea.  What a great way to save 10%, and create an organized shopping list for yourself at the same time.

Yup - I have a registry for #2 that no one knows about.  I add/delete things all the time.  It's sort of a checklist for me...and the completion coupon isn't a bad deal either.  =D

As long as you don't tell anyone, it should be fine.

Also, you can maybe set up your registry saying you're due in, say, the end of September and get your coupons early. Then you can delete your registry if you're concerned about people looking.

i did it too! we need a few things eve though the babies will be 18 months apart. I love that they send the completion coupon and coupons in general! I also use it as a checklist for what I have purchased and still need to purchase
