clothing question

How many "outfits" do you guys have? I was thinking that I would pretty much just use sleepers and onsies with pants for the first 6 months. Do I need more outfits or would you count the onsies with pants as outfits. Thanks!

Re: clothing question

  • I think for the first 4 months, I used mostly sleepers and onesies.  I really ended up liking those "rompers" as well - kind of an outfit that snaps at the crotch like a onesie...I had a few of those from BabyGap and Old Navy.

But yeah, I'd limit your actual "outfits" as most aren't as comfy as soft sleepers and onsies!

  • I pretty much had DS in footed sleep and plays while at home and onesies and pants while we were out.  They really don't make outfits for baby boys though onesies and pants are pretty much it for the first 6 months or so.

  • My kid lived in sleepers durring the winter when he was little till about 4 months and this summer i have him in mostly short sleeved rompers. I think if you have some onsies and pants you will be fine.
  • It depends on how you feel about clothes.  I used sleepers for the first month.  After that dd wore sleepers around the house but when we went out she was always dressed in cute (but comfy) outfits.  I love dressing her up!  She spent a lot of time this summer in dresses.  I just bought her 2 pairs of jeans, a pair of cargo pants, and 2 pairs of leggings with matching shirts (most of them onesie style) from the Gap for the fall.

Yes but you have a girl, go into any baby and kids clothing shop and take a look 3/4 of the store will be completely dedicated to just the girls.  Leave maybe 4-5 racks of clothing for the boys if you are lucky!

  • I dressed E daily, and generally used a one piece outfit, but it was not a sleeper.

I don;t buy clothes for him retail, only consignment and thrift. Thus he has a TON of clothes! I dont need to do his laundry more than 2x  a month
