1st ultrasound today! can i eat before it?

i have my first ultrasound today and wanted to know if i can eat before i go to it? on the back of the slip she gave me it has instructions for three different types of ultrasounds, one says do not eat anything after midnight. however all i remember her telling me was to drink 24 oz of water an hour before the appointment.

Eating is fine. . . just need to make sure you drink lots of water like they told you.

Call your doctor and ask.  I had an external u/s at 8 weeks and didn't have to drink water before.

Yes you can eat. The water is due to having an external ultra sound. You might still be too early and end up with a trans vaginal in which case they'll have you empty your bladder.

Yep and so if I were you, I would just call my Dr. It's likely that because you're so early, they'll perform the transvaginal us ... in that case ... you need an empty bladder as stated above ... but you can eat either way ...
