does your 15+pound baby sleep in the PNP?

We are going to the beach for 2 weeks and would like to order a new portable crib/PNP  to be sent to the beach house (we really don't have the car space to bring ours, my Dad is coming for the 2nd week we are there so he can transport it back for us after vacay) Also we'll need something for DD to sleep in at MIL's house after I go back to work.  However, it seems that the bassinet feature for the PNP's is only good until 15 pounds and my 6 week old is already 12 pounds so....she will outweigh it not too long after I go back to work.  Can the baby sleep in the bottom portion of the PNP?  Sorry if this is a dumb question.

If not, what do you have at your daycare provider for your LO to sleep in?

  • Ava is 25+ lbs (17 months ) and naps daily in her PNP.

Now I have to check and see if she shouldn't be!

  • Yes the bottom portion of the pnp is meant for them to sleep in and that's where they go after they reach the weight limit for the bassinet feature.  :)

  • I was jsut checking this earlier, the bassinet feature is for up to 15 pounds but the playard is up to 30 pounds, atleast this is my pnp.  I hear ya though, my one month old is weighing 12 pounds so she will be out of the bassinet feature soon, this is what we have been using for her to sleep in our room!
  • We were well over the 15 lb limit for our PNP for about a month before we moved them up to their crib.  THey slept in it the short way so that both could fit and they would make a pretty serious dent in the matress so at that point we knew they had to go upstairs.  SHe can definitely sleep in the bottom part if she's too biig for the top.

  • We kept Cal in the bassinet part of his PnP until he was about 18lbs (6 months).  Maybe not the smartest move, but I wasn't ready for him to be in the lower portion yet.

  • Yep.  DD is 18+ lbs and that's where she sleeps when we travel.
