NBR Vent: why do people do this on facebook?

I am facebook friends with a few people in particular who are always making ambiguous status posts about serious(as in, facebook is probably not the most appropriate outlet) things.  Inevitably people start commenting on their status saying "OMG, what are you talking about", "what is going on?", "are you ok???", etc.  Then the person who's status it was gets all annoyed that people are in their business, and they refuse to clarify or answer any questions.  Drama queens.

Seriously, if you want to keep it to yourself, KEEP IT OFF FACEBOOK! 

 Vent over.

    Oh, they don't want to keep it to themselves. They want attention. I do have a FB friend like this... DH & I laugh about it all the time.

    Totally agree. It drives me nuts.

    I used to have a FB friend that would post things like "life is shittty. turning my phone off all weekend. DON'T ask"

    AGREED! They might as well put something up like "look at me! look at me! I 'hate' high school drama, but I'm going to tell everyone my business, and then wonder why everyone is in my business. Oh wait, I gues in reality I dont hate drama afterall.... I just want everyone's eyes on me!"

    i have a friend like this.  i feel like i've had way too much information about her single status and it always gets worse after she's been to someone else's wedding.  hell, all she has to do is see a romantic movie and she's off on FB moping about how she has no life.

    my MIL did updates like that...then deleted her account because she said it was too easy for people to know all her business.  Sigh...

    I had a friend that would completely freak out all the time on FB and then people not to comment on FB or ask her how she was doing. Her theory was if we are really interested we would call her and not post on FB. OK??? Hello Pot, I'm Kettle and we're both black.

    Exactly this. I never post anything on FB but mundane, or amusing little things.
