3rd Trimester

Crampy...

I posted this a few days ago that I was having this lower abd. pain along with cramping, but no bleeding or anything. So now every day since then...like 2 or 3 days ago I have a had cramps throughout the day...nothing consistent though. I was making dinner like an hr. ago and I had this horrible cramp (menstural like x10) and my belly tightened up. Now that was a contraction! wow....anyone else getting this? Im not bleeding or anything. I do have my dr's appt. tomorrow so I will ask, but I just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this too?

Re: Crampy...

  • Yes, I have been getting these from time to time.  Doc said it is a good thing at this point.  Why would you think that you would be bleeding?

  • Only b.c. I have read something that a lady had horrible cramping near the very end of her pregnancy and started bleeding-and then lost the baby.(very sad) Also I read that when you may be near to losing your mucous plug that you can cramp. I have no idea whether or not these are true or false. Just wondering...trying to be safe. :0)
  • I haven't had any real contractions (I wish) but at the point where you are there is nothing to worry about. I would trade with you in a second. It's just your body preparing for labor. Why would there be any bleeding?

  • I have all weekend and now I just feel really crappy and sore. Dr. said its your body preparing for the real deal...I know what you mean though, it feels like you should start bleeding since they are like crazy insane period cramps
  • I've had cramping also. They are braxton hicks contractions and are just getting your cervix and body ready for birth. If the contractions become regular, stronger, and longer than it is probably labor, You need to go to the hospital if your water breaks or you have contractions 5 minutes apart that last for 60 seconds for an hour. I hope this helps!
