I'm not sure how to interpret this...

I'm probably just being weird, but I have to admit, I was a little slighted by this...

There's this friend I have (S) and we used to hang out quite a bit. I met her through another friend of mine (J) and we used to all have poker nights about 10x a year and we'd have bbqs and stuff other times throughout the year. We were pretty close for about 4-5 years.

So our mutual friend (J) started dating the girl that (S) didn't care for too much so they cooled off with poker nights a little, but this was right around when I got pg so I know I was partially at fault for being too tired to hang out.

So friend (J) calls me and says that friend (S) posts a picture of her and her engagement ring and (J) is hurt that (S) couldn't call. To be honest I'm a little bugged that she couldn't call us to tell us the happy news.

Am I just sounding really old fashioned or is it weird for close friends to find out this stuff through facebook?

I would see why that would hurt your feelings. She could have at least texted you, sent you a picture message or called before posting on facebook. maybe she was just too excited. but i made sure to tell everyone important to me before reporting to facebook that I was engaged.
