3rd Trimester

s/o freaking out...

Last night, I had a major freak out.  We are all the same. We all want healthy LOs...But last night DH and SS were playing around wrestling and I had a freaking meltdown because LO is going to be a boy too.

DH bought LO his first dirt bike at 4 years old and they wrestle and do lots of manly potential harmful things. Last night it all hit me like a ton of bricks and I bawled my eyes out. I dont want my LO on a dirt bike at 4 years old!

DH got upset and said I am going to end up raising a piece of glass and blah blah blah...But it really upset me...

A boy....ahhhh

  • It's natural to be overly protective at first.  However, as they grow you will learn to "let them go" a bit.  I've actually had to push my son towards taking risks on several occasions.  Boys will be boys...  there will be cuts, bruises, scrapes and possibly the occasional broken bone.  You have to let them get dirty and experiment.  They really aren't as "breakable" as you think.  Sure, you will always worry but after a while, you will get used to it and it will be easier to deal with.  You'll do fine Wink

  •  Im the exact opposite. Im excited for my son to get dirty and take risks, nothing harmful of course but you know what I mean. Im excited about everything that comes with a boy because it will be different for me. DH has 2 little girls so im over tea partys and house. haha. He says that ill be the incredibly protective mother and im sure I will for a while, I think its pretty normal to be that way so dont worry about raising a peice of glass, hes going to get himself into trouble no matter what.
