3rd Trimester

Being induced TOMORROW!

I just got back from the Dr. and we decided that tomorrow is the big day! They stripped my membranes today. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. Hopefully that will help things go quicker tomorrow. Anyone know friends or yourself that were induced with their first baby? How long did it take after the induction for you to be fully dilated? I know for some, it completely fails where others it's as fast as lightening. Just wanted to hear some different experiences.

Many thanks!

  • I'm being induced tomorrow too so I am interested to see what everyone has to say. I'm super nervous but I am so ready for this little one to be here!

  • I posted on the 0-6 months board too. I'd love to hear your story, so lets keep in touch!
  • Not sure why this is in color but whatever...

Anyways I was induced with DD #1 went to Dr. for appt. on due date, and he decided to induce due to DD failing NST so we got checked into hospital about 5:30 pm and going with the tablet in my cervix to soften it about 6:30- 7 ish, pm so the pitocin wouldnt stress her out too quick!  I was on the tablets in cervix all night and ambian, that part is a bit of blur due to the ambian but don't remember it being bad.

Then at about 9:30 am they started the Pitocin the next day, and EPI I have no idea somewhere around 5 cm and 1.5 hrs. later or so.  Then about 4:30 - 4:45 ish I felt a lot of pain and pressure and they said it was time to push in which I did for about 30 min.  Which I am dreading again as the pushing I thought was hard!  But I just kept saying to myself push good and she will be out and the pain will be gone.  So at 5:15 she was born.  I did get a 2nd degree tear and they used the vacuum on her to help get her out!

I would really like to go on my own this time, but have a lot going on and may have to go the route of being induced again!  The induced part I guess wasnt too bad, the pushing is what I hated at recovering from stiches but that part would have happened weather I was induced or not.

Good luck!  And don't be scared!

  • I was induced with DS at 41 weeks. I went in at 9am Friday, and had him at 2:44 pm on Sat....so needless to say it took a loooong time..lol. But I didnt have a bad experience, just very long. GL to you!
