It is bad enough that this cycle has had enough issues but this morning at the IUI the lab informed us that the donor sample was far below the expected value at 6 mil motile. Ugh and Ugh. The RE had the talk that it is not totally bad but could be a factor in why we are not getting pregnant. I am a little peeved this is the first time we are hearing it but I will just go back to the cryobank and get our money back and fight on the other 2 vials.
Now I feel like this won't work and this is probably our last cycle before a forced break to save for IVF.
Re: Add another issue to this cycle
That sucks! It just seems so unfair that after going through azoo (I think you are in the check in, sorry if I am wrong) that you have to deal with crappy donor sperm
.
I hope you can get your money back and find a better donor.
Can I ask how many cycles you did with this donor before your clinic informed you of the issues?
Me - DX Hashimoto's Disease, Hypothyroid, Rheumatoid Arthritis
DH - DX Azoospermia - Sertoli Cell Syndrome
DS-IUI #1-4 BFN IVF #1 - BFP! It's a boy!!!
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
That is exactly what I struggle with. It is like adding insult to injury, cycle after cycle not getting pg and now this.
It has been 2 cycles that they did not mention it. The first cycle they said it was fine and then I never heard boo. I don't know if I can fault them per se, the RE;s that did my last two IUI's were not my RE. Today was my RE and he jumped on it and went over it with us. He is looking for any reason as to why I have not gotten PG.
My biggest issue right now is that is hard to even consider finding a new donor. This donor so closely matches my DH's personality and heritage that it actually sickens me to think that we could not get PG using him.
We haven't picked a donor yet but just trying to find everything we want is hard. I know how bad it sucks when you have 100 or 200 donors listed and then put in what seems like not so picky criteria and all of the sudden you are down to 8 donors to choose from. It blows my mind how few are returned sometimes. Have you looked at many banks? Our clinic recommended CA Cryo but I found their selection (that sounds funny) somewhat limited. I also looked at Fairfax and was surprised at how many more donors matched our initial criteria. Maybe you can find someone even better at a different cryobank. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this on top of everything else and I'm glad your RE is looking into this for you (too bad the others didn't point it out!).
I hope you're at least able to get a refund from the cryobank!
