Infertility

I'm going to ask you the most stupid question

And I don't blame you for thinking I'm an idiot, but I have to ask for peace of mind.

I have a problem with constipation.  It so bad sometimes that I will push with all my might and have to suck it back in.

I was 4 days past IUI when this happened.  I worry that because I can push a tampon out when this happens - is it possible to push an embryo out?

I know, laugh at me, that's fine.  The 2ww gives me paranoia.

Re: I'm going to ask you the most stupid question

  • I love the honesty!!  Nope you can't push an embryo out.  But get yourself some colace and consider changing prenatal brands.  That is what did it to me and I feel your pain.

  • no.  Maybe you should try drinking more water and take some stool softeners.

  • No. You need to get some fiber in your diet.

  • Haha... Not a stupid question. IF makes us worry about everything! I was constipated too right at about 3 or 4 dpiui. It was very unpleasant. The good news is, no, you can't push out an embryo. GL this cycle!

  • I can't really offer any insight regarding your embie but I would DEFINITELY up your water intake (my brother, a health nut, says it's "the lubricant of life") and try to get some extra fiber in. A lot of PNV will aid in preventing constipation as well.

It's not healthy to be so backed-up... especially for a prolonged amount of time.

    GL!

  • Thanks all!  I appreciate you not flaming me to hell.

I know I need to drink more water - I'm horrible at that.  I do use a perscription form of Miralax as needed, unfortunately I usually don't realize it's needed until I'm already constipated.

  • Hahaha! To echo other sentiments, you can't push the embie out but if you don't drink enough fluids, also try prunes! I don't particularly care for the taste, but I try to eat 2 or 3 pieces a day and it makes me more regular. I think one of my fertility drugs makes me really constipated!

  • my MIL was drinking these beneful drinks this weekend and said that they were good...it is like the little crystal lite packets for water bottles, but they are flavor plus fiber!  might be worth a try too (i know that wasn't your question...but i hadn't seen them before and thought i would share!)
