Does this mean I'm going to be a crap parent?

Today I saw a kid who was maybe 14 or so, SKATEBOARDING with the flow of traffic on a 8 lane road. No pads, no helmet, skating BEHIND A CAR. He then went UP the wrong way against traffic and skated between two cars to cut into a parking lot. My first thought wasn't oh no, he could get hurt. It was, dumbass, I wonder if his parents are cousins.

No, I think it's just teenagers.  I live/work with them - and they seriously lose brain cells.

LOL- no, it means you'll be a good parent who at least tries to raise their young son to have some semblance of common sense. My first thought too would have been, dumbass, didn't your parents teach you anything?

That said, 14 year old boys are notorious for thinking they're invincible and that no harm can possibly come to him. So he may have great parents and come from a wonderful family, but is just an idiot teenager.

They think they can't get hurt. I was like that too. Not weaving in traffic, but I used to jump of my roof onto the front lawn all the time. It scared the crap out of the neighbours.

I'm pretty sure I would have had the same thought. I think similar things when I see kids riding their bikes against traffic, which seems to be ALL the time. I also wonder if their parents just never bothered to teach them bicycle safety?
