total AW: Great anniversary weekend - sweet DH!

This weekend was our big u/s & our 5 year anniversary and Dh made it such a special weekend. He took the day off on Friday and had an entire day planned. We had our u/s, then breakfast at our fave place, and then headed home to freshen up.

When we got home we exchanged cards. We had agreed on no gifts, so imagine my shock and surprise when I opened my card and it started playing "2 Tickets to Paradise" and Dh tells me he has planned an entire babymoon/anniversary trip for us!!! I was flipping out! I really couldn't believe it.

He knows what a control freak I am, so he actually had a few different options and let me decide on the final one - my options were a 9 day cruise to the Caribbean, a 7 day cruise to the Bahamas or 7 days in Key Biscayne, Florida at our favorite hotel in the world.

I chose Key Biscayne because I am not a huge fan of cruising and I was right on the cusp of being allowed to cruise - 23w is the cut off and we would set sail at 23w. I was a little uncomfortable being on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic or in a 3rd world country in the event that something went wrong and I needed to be in L&D. I know the odds are rare, but still. Also, my OB told me it was ok to go, but to know that I would be putting myself at increased risk of H1N1 and other contagious disease on board and in port so that was enough to seal the deal for me. Besides, who could pass up a week of pampering at one of the best hotels in the world? All I really want to do is float in the pool, read, sleep, eat and go to the spa.

After the big vacay surprise we headed into the city and spent the day like a couple of tourists - we took a tour of the Baltimore Cathedral, went to the Harbor, walked around etc...and then had dinner at our favorite steakhouse. It was the perfect day! The rest of the weekend was the perfect mix of relaxation and hanging out with friends.

I am so excited for our trip - leaving in 12 days!!!
