off my feet
Re: ~~Bed Rest Mama's Monday Check In!~~
I have a dr. appointment this afternoon. I think I am going to roll the dice and NOT take a hospital bag with me today. I have been taking it since twice I have gone for an appointment and been sent to L&D but things are going well and I feel confident so I am thinking I will leave the bag behind... or maybe just bring it not to jinx myself... who knows - feeling very good and expect to have a great and normal appointment.
QOTD: If your LO is going to be here before Halloween - will your be dressing him/her up? What will your Halloween plans be? What is your favorite Halloween memory from childhood?
I have a cute Halloween outfit to dress DD in but she would probably not have a costume. I am still trying to figure out what DS will be. We participate in the "Buddy Walk" every year, which is a walk to raise money for our local down syndrome awareness group.... This year it is on Halloween. We are excited because "Corky from Life goes On", will be at our Buddy Walk this year. He is in a band and they will be playing at the walk - so that is exciting. That evening all my nieces and nephews will get together for trick or treating - Ethan will go with them and either Daddy or I will go and the other will stay behind and pass out candy with Lauren... We loved Halloween as kids. Seems like we trick or treated for hours and got so much candy. My mom usually made our costumes and she was very clever - putting together 6 homemade costumes for all her kids... we recycled a lot of costumes.. my favorite was when I was wonder woman... My costume was fashioned out of wonder woman underroos... so essentially I trick or treated in my underwear.. nice!
Hey all! I stupidly broke my sisters laptop on Friday, thats why I haven't been around as much...I can't bump from my couch anymore! I'll "cheat" once or twice a day and sit up at the desktop though.
QOTD-
I had planned on putting LO in a costume, but with being on disability and only getting half pay for 12 weeks and then nothing, I've been watching the spending a bit more. I'm looking on craigslist for a good deal, otherwise I have this brown and orange outfit with an owl on it that he can wear that day. How we celebrate will depend on if DH is working on Halloween or not...if he is, we'll just stay home this year.
Update: ?From 3pm - 11pm last night I was contracting every 10 minutes - then it slowly got off pattern then just stopped around 1am. ?So, not much sleep, but oh so worn out for the contrax. ? Ugh!!! ?This boy is teasing me! ?I'm ready - everything hurts. ?My tailbone is ridiculous...I'm afraid to sit down because getting up means feeling everything throb on my backside before I can completely straighten out! ?I can't stand forever...my feet are so swollen, I look like I'm baking bread in my shoes! ?Had NST today - all is well - contractions every ten minutes still. ?Don't see the OB till this Thursday - I'm hoping that maybe I won' t need to...
?~~mrsjrmiller~~ Yay on feeling good - girl you are almost at 30 weeks!!!! ?Hurray!
~~ACSoup~~ ?I was on bed rest for 13 weeks, then modified bedrest for one week, and now 4 days of no bed rest. ?The whole time on BR, I was on meds to keep contractions away...and I thought the moment I was off meds I'd be delivering, and definitely when I was allowed to walk around more that I'd be delivering. ?Now...11 days of having vertical time - still no baby!!! ?I hope that your waiting game isn't as long or frustrating! ?:)?
QOTD: ?Yes - definitely dressing up this little guy. ?Don't know what yet. ?Every year we participate in the local ?Wiggle Waggle walk for dogs - it's a costume contest for canines, benefitting the local shelter. ?There are usually a couple hundred dogs and their owners there - all dressed up. ?We dress up our English Bulldog. Shih Tzu and Pekingese (last year they were all bumble bees, and I was dressed as queen bee -- soo cheesy!) ?This year, with our human son, we have to find another family theme. ?:D
Update: Waiting for the A/C repairman. It's almost 90 degrees in the house. I hope he gets here soon and not at 4pm like he said. I hate that noon to 4pm window they give. Ugh. Anyway, had a good NST/AFI today. Said bye to a few people. Weird to think this time next week I'll be in the hospital... We found our daycare. We thought the lady who did daycare out of her house way crazy, and we liked the small commercial daycare. We saw Harry Potter. I like being off restriction. It sounds like I'm not on bedrest anymore, but I'm under orders to be horizontal as much as possible. Boy am I beat. Heat and too much activity and too many contractions. I didn't think my tummy could be this sore.
QOTD: I love Halloween! I was odd. I trick or treated in costume until I was 17. I loved it and I love candy. I told DH we'd be getting a little costume for the bebe. Someone posted a baby and infant halloween costume site on here a couple weeks ago and they had some supercute little swaddling costumes that looked worth ordering.
Yep, we're replacing it. She's a college student and needs it. Which is awesome because we totally have an extra couple hundred dollars lying around now that I am on disability and making half my normal pay (sarcasm!)...Fortunately we found a pretty good deal, but I still wanted to cry when I cracked the screen.
Hi, I rarely post but now that I'm on bedrest, I thought it may help out! Can you please add me to the list?
Name: Mandy (mandyunc2003)
After seeing the MFM, I was monitoring for contractions at home and had 9 in 45 minutes, so I had my first trip to L&D over the weekend. After a night in the hospital, they miniimized the contractions to about 1-2/hr and I'm on both a Terbutaline pump and Procardia to keep the babies in as long as possible.
EDD: 11/10 (more realistically, 10/13-10/27 since it's di-di b/g twins)
Type of BR: Strict! Allowed to get up for restroom breaks and meals only.
Since when: 8/6 (26w 2d)
Reason: Went from 3.7cm to 2.4cm within 3 weeks, and Baby A (girl) is only in the 9th percentile for weight (1 lb 11 oz). Baby B is doing great and checked in at 2 lbs (45th percentile), so I'm ordered to eat every 3 hours and make it fattening
