I know you aren't supposed to take a bath because of a risk of infection but I don't know about showering. I was just sitting here thinking that if I my water was to break right now (even though I have no reason to believe it would...just the "I'm getting close" scenarios running through my head), I would want to shower before going to the hospital as I haven't taken one yet today.
Re: Can you shower after your water breaks?
Thanks...I plan to ask when we go to class next week but I wanted to ask while I was thinking about it now in case I forget at class.

She must have been GBS+ and/or the hospital is just super cautious about everything - there really is no reason you can't shower after your water breaks.
I am GBS+ and my OB has no issue with my soaking in the jacuzzi tub after my water breaks. Since you are receiving antibiotics, there is no reason to avoid water. Plus, it is a myth that still bath water even enters the vagina.
If you have ever seen a water birth (even on TV), it's apparent that there is no problem laboring/delivering in a tub after your water breaks.
I'll be laboring in a tub at a birth center. I'm not worried about it. And I certainly wouldn't be concerned about showering since you're not even submerged in water.
