Babies: 9 - 12 Months

MIL feed DD cottage cheese- Is this bad?

DD is new to table foods.  Today MIL fed her cottage cheese.  I dont know why but that just doesn't seem like it would be healthy for a baby.  Am I wrong?  Have you ever feed it to your baby?

  • Cottage cheese is very healthy for them, especially if it's the full fat kind.  Ds loves it.
  • DS loves it and eats it every other day. The small curd kind works better for their little mouths.
  • I'm sure it's fine.  I've never given it to DD because I hate cottage cheese, can't even stand the smell of it, but we started other cheeses at 9 months.
  • Do you do yogurt? Because really, not a lot of difference.

We haven't done yogurt yet but will be trying it soon.  I bought some, will probably try it for breakfast in the morning actually.

  • My DS loves it!  I actually buy the large curd kind b/c I think it is easier for him to grab the chunks. The small curd is just too runny and just spreads around like puree.
