clogged tear duct/eyelid infection?

DD has clogged tear ducts but lately they've been better.  She still is gooky a few times a day but it's not that bad.

Today I came home from work and the outer corner of her right eye is all red and irritated looking, like the skin itself.  I have the rx eyedrops in case her eye got infected...what do I do for this?

I don't want to make MIL take her to the pedi tomorrow unless it's really necessary....

Re: clogged tear duct/eyelid infection?

  • I had an rx for Katie because of clogged duct.  Her eye never got read but her eyelid would get red and there would be discharge.  We used it then and it worked.  I would use the eyedrops because it is infected.

  • My DD had a clogged duct when she was an infant and I never had to use eye drops, rather a warm compress and massage the duct. It worked, but if it hadnt and I had eye drops, I would try them before calling the pedi unless it gets really bad.
