Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Vacation regrets?

This is my first post on 6-12...my son is 5 1/2 months, but I figured you ladies would be more helpful then 0-6! Smile

We are going on vacation on Saturday and in an effort to not pack every baby item we own, I was curious... for those of you that went to the beach this summer with a 5-6 month old, what were some of the items that you regretted not bringing with you (ie bumbo, bouncy, etc) and some of the things you could not have done without.

We are not big beach people anyway, so to even know what to pack for adults is mystery enough! LOL! TIA!

Re: Vacation regrets?

  • All I needed for the beach was an umbrella, blanket, towel to dry off the baby and an extra outfit to put her in after I took her bathing suit off.  Also, baby powder works great for getting the sand off.  Just sprinkle some on her and then wipe and both the sand and powder come off. She can set on her own, but if she couldnt' I probably would have brought the bumbo to the beach.

  • We didn't go on vacation around then, but I would say to bring everything that your DC uses a LOT at home (within reason). For DD at that age, that would have been her bouncy seat, Bumbo and exersaucer (that would be unreasonable though). Also make sure to bring a bunch of books and small toys for the car ride if you're driving there. GL!

  • My IL's gave us a baby beach cabana as a Christmas gift this year.  It was a lifesaver on the beach because it kept Will shaded and he was able to sleep in it so we didn't have to leave the beach when it was his naptime.  I think they got it at BRU.
