Another cow milk ?

Once your baby is transitioned to milk, do you give it to them straight out of the fridge? Do you boil it first? Or do you at least heat it up to room temp?

I was raised on unpasteurized whole-milk (country I was raised in = no pasteurization) so we always had to heat milk up first.

Re: Another cow milk ?

  • My SIL warms up the milk for my nephew. But I don't think it matters, really, just baby's preference.

  • I give it to them right out of the fridge.

I grew up on a farm, we had unpaturized milk.

  • She takes it right out of the fridge.  I'd say try it cold since that is easiest and if you get complaints then try warming it.

  • I'm transitioning by putting formula in with the milk (after mixing it of course) but not heating it up.  I figure she's growing up, she doesn't need it heated anymore, but I am using pasteurized milk though.  I think places that sell unpasteurized milk nowadays are few and far between.  Like you can only go to farms and get it, but I haven't done research on it either.

  • We haven't transitioned yet (E is MSPI) but if we do, it will be straight out of the fridge! i wont heat it, because I dont want to have to heat it!

  • Hmn... I guess I'll have to figure this one out. DS won't take BM out of the frige and in transition it will be mixed w/ BM, so it will be heated the same way.

Good to know I don't have to though. Thank you!
