Inexpensive Crib Advice

we are looking to get a crib, white, that is below $200. Convertible is fine, no drop down side. Any website or store advice on where to look??? or maybe a model youve had good luck with? TIA!

I've heard good things about the Graco Lauren which is around 160 at Target I believe.

We actually went through Walmart.  They had a heck of a sale on their Babymod cribs (which are made by Million Dollar Baby...same company that makes DaVinci).  We got a crib that's usually something like 275 for 199.  You can't beat the free shipping to the store, either.

i am more looking for a standard, but i was just opening it up to if someone found one that was convertible instead. we found one for under 200 at BRU, but i wanted to get some other opnions

IKEA makes one that got an A from baby bargains- Gulliver I think? Not convertible but no dropside

Ikea gulliver in white is $99 it converts to a toddler bed.  Very solid, rated A and super cheap.  I have it in birch and love it.  If you are short it's great.  I'm short and I think if I had any other crib I'd be on my tippy toes trying to get hte baby out.

The Gulliver at Ikea...$99, comes in white.  Its very simple but is very sturdy and I think it looks great.  We got this one.

Also it is amazingly easy to put together and it'll be easy to covert to the toddler bed.  Well worth the 99 bucks.

okay, now i have another question....this ikea that everyone is talking about----i am 5'7...is that too tall for it? we dont live near one for me to go look at.

how can you be too tall for a crib? Maybe I don't understand your question...

nope I don't think so.  My Dh is 5'9" it's not too short for him.  I'm 5'2 so others would end at my arm pits.  I had a friend ship my UPS and from NJ to St louis it was only $40 to ship.

We found a convertible crib at target for under $200 and I love it! Its not white though.

I ask because people are saying it is closer to the ground than other cribs.....im just wondering if its going to be a really big stretch for me :P anyone know how tall the crib stands??

Well its not under $200, but we got the Baby Mod Cadence for $219 at Walmart. It is a very nice looking, sturdy crib. You can do free Site to Store shipping also. We got it in black, but it also comes in white.

ETA: And it comes with the toddler rail!

I got a really nice crib from K-Mart for $99.00 during one of their baby sales. It is a convertible crib that goes yoba toddler and full sized bed.DS has been using it for 17 months now and it's in great shape. It does have a drop side though.

Try target and walmart online there are convertibles for about 250 but not under200

Originally I was going to the the Da Vinci Kalani from Babies R Us ($309), but found out that the Baby Mod Cadence from Wal-mart is made by the same people that make Da Vinci and it is very similar to, if not exactly the same as the Da Vinci Kalani. There are tons of rave reviews on it. It's is $219 and is convertible. If you do Site To Store shipping to your local Wal-Mart, it's free!
