I know everyones babies are different, but how much solid food do you feed your baby each sitting?

Re: 8-9 month old food question

  • a third to a half a container of each fruit and veg. However, she isnt really into purees. I give her some table food (one egg yolk, chix, cheese, veggies, ect), but mostly she plays with those.

  • As you can see from his pics, Owen loves his food.

He has 4 oz. fruit w/ 1/4 cup oatmeal for breakfast.

1/2 cup yogurt and wheat germ (sometimes w/ 1 oz. fruit or veg mixed in) for lunch.

6 or 7 oz. veg. with rice or other cereal for dinner.

We've tried pancakes, egg yolk, cheerios, puffs, banana and sweet potato cubes. He'll eat them if we feed them to him, but just plays with them or throws them on the floor if we put a few on his tray.

  • omg, feeding is such a struggle. ?he takes a few bites of food at a meal and that's it. ?it doesn't matter if it's purees or tiny bites of finger food. ?he's so not interested. ?we're lucky if we can feed him an ounce at each meal.
  • DS gets 3.5 oz (1-stage 2 container) fruit with about 2T oatmeal for breakfast

4-5 oz for lunch - usually 1/2 veg 1/2 fruit or 1/2 container of yogurt

4-6 oz for dinenr - 1 container "dinner" and then 1/2 to whole container of veg or fruit.

It depends day to day.  He eats best at breakfast and dinner ususally. Lunch is iffy.  He is still pretty much on purees. He gags and vomits any time anything with texture touchs his mouth.  Anything soft he has to chew - has the same result.  So, for the meantime we are not pushing table foods yet.

  • Breakfast - 1 yobaby yogurt with tbls of oatmeal

    Lunch - 4oz veggie, 2 oz fruit

    Dinner - 4oz veggie, 4oz fruit

( have a big eater! :)  He loves Puffs but doesn't care much for other finger foods that i've tried - sweet potatoes, cheese, egg yolk, blueberry waffle, avocado)

  • Will takes one jar (4oz) of stage 2 fruit or vegetable and 4tbsp. oatmeal mixed with formula.  He also eats a few puffs or maybe a mum mum, but I don't really count that because in my experience with puffed rice (ie rice cakes) this really isn't filling, nor meeting any of his nutritional needs.
  • Hey there! I haven't seen you in a while. Dylan looks so cute! My DD is only on two meals of solids a day.  She eats 2 oz of fruits & veggies and then some crackers or cheerios.  She didn't start solids until 6 months and it's been slow going.  She's also very picky.
