Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Change in Bed Time ?

DS has been going to bed at night at 7pm for a few months now. In the past 2 weeks, he has been pushing his bed time till 9pm (I try to put him to bed at 7 and then he plays for a while and then gets pretty tired but won't really go to sleep until about 9). There hasn't been anything different in what happens during the day so I don't see an obvious explanation for the change other than maybe he needs less sleep at 8 months than he did at 6? Anyone else's LO push their bed time?

  • lol @ an 8 month old needing less sleep than a 6 month old.  uhhh both still = baby and both still need a lot of sleep!

  • DD's bedtime was all over the place when she was younger, but she hasn't made any big changes in the last few months.  Is your LO sleeping longer in the morning, or napping more during the day? I guess so long as he doesn't seem overly tired, it shouldn't be a problem.  Though, if it were me, I'd be ever so slightly annoyed--I like my evenings after DD goes to bed!

I like when he goes to bed too, it's my "me" time :) Some mornings he sleeps in  but it's not consistent. I hope it's just a phase, I was just curious what other babies do around this age.

DD stays pretty on routine.  She is a little out of whack right now (maybe an hour or so later) because I am off work.  However starting the 17th when I go back to work. I am gonna try to push it back again.  I like having my time at night, and when I am working she has to get up earlier so I can be at work.  I hate for her to lose sleep.
