Success after IF

My nurse tonight...

is giving me the uh oh feeling. I think she is weird and I do not like her.

I have to "take" prometrim everynight and she wanted to look at the bottle, hmmm okay you are the first one to ask, but whatever. Then she asked if I "did it" in the room or the bathroom.... Really??? I thought for sure she was going to tell me to "do it" in front of her.

I hope she is on duty much the next few weeks.... Do not like. When she put me on the monitors she scratched the hell out of me with her nails.

Seriously?? Give me my regular nurses.

  • Yikes!

I had a freaky night nurse one night when I was in after having DS. She came in ever 1/2 hour, looked around the room and left. It was like she was trying to catch us doing something we shouldn't be.

  • that's the worst; I remember when I was on hospital bedrest I had a few I adored and a few I couldn't stand. I hope she's not on duty much!
  • You know what, Babbs? If you really don't like her and she gives you an uncomfortable feeling, tomorrow morning ask for the nurse supervisor and see if there is someone else who can be your nurse... With all you are dealing with you need not be stressed over your nurse!

  • I was wondering if I had the right to ask not to have her again. Is that mean? I love, love the other nurses that I have had.

I was able to request nurses (as long as they were on duty).  I had the same nurse for the two nights I was in L&D after delivering Grant (they kept me there since I was still needing close monitoring).  It was really nice to have the same nurse. . . I can totally understand how you feel.  Hopefully this is the last you'll see of this nurse.  Keep us posted!

  • You absolutely have the right to ask not to have her anymore, and they should comply. If you have trouble with the sup. talk to your OB. I had one while in labor who wanted me to have a cath immediately. I refused and she insisted. I refused more, and she tossed the cath. kit across the room, and stormed out. The next time she came in, I asked her to get the sup. When the supervisor came in, I told her that Nurse Witch will not be working with me. They were more than willing to rearrange.

It is your health. You do not have a lot of control over much lately, but you can control this to an extent.

  • The rotation will be over soon! I think you can request not to have her again- but with there weird schedules maybe you wont

  • Actually sounds like a new nurse to me (meaning newly graduated)
  • I'll defend one thing...when I have patients take their own medications, I am still required to sign them out in the computer that it was done.  So, I do ask my patients if they took their medications.  Why she cared where you put it in is beyond me though.  But, if she rubs you the wrong way, you can certainly let someone on the next shift know that the nurse didn't jive with you and that you would prefer another nurse when possible.
