I can only find organic bananas at Whole Foods and it is about 20 min. away so it isn't a regular trip for me. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck freezing bananas?
Just make your puree ahead of time in bulk and freeze in ice cube trays. Then you just thaw however many cubes h will eat. It will b a little thinner then a fresh puree, but I just add cereal to thicken it up.

I fork mash mine and freeze in ice cube trays, too. We haven't had a problem yet. I don't add lime juice. DD likes a banana avocado mix, so I usually thaw a cube of each for her lunch.
Re: Making baby food - can I freeze bananas?
This is what I do too, it works well. Don't worry, the lemon or lime juice won't hurt your baby, it's not like feeding them actual citrus fruit!
My kids break out from citrus.
I just plan my trips by Wholefoods once a week.
I also have better luck keeping them in the fridge, they stay yellow for up to a week.If I freeze, I freeze whole and they don't get brown.
I might try this!!
This exactly. They are a little brown on the outside but the inside is nice and yellow still. And even if they are brown, they still taste fine.
