Cajun- Your highness of the iron-ons

Help me! I totally ruined a bunch of onesies. Peeled them off to quickly, the other stuck to the board and I stretched the design ripping it off. I think I am slightly retarded. Do you just iron on the ironing board? Mine is a little padded. Any tips and/or pointers you can give? Much appreciated!

    i put a pillowcase on the table bc the ironing board isn't the best to use. you want to let the iron on cool completely before taking the paper off, and go slowly. i usually leave the iron on until i know the iron on is on there good. that way i can go back and iron over it again (with the paper backing still on of course).

    Thank you! I will have to try that.  I was so pissed when I ruined his "pirate in training"  and the "little montster".  I will have to get more. I'm really tired of all the cutesy boy stuff.
