Babies: 9 - 12 Months

How did you deal with this?

My DD just started rolling over on her tummy in her sleep. It wakes her up and she freaks out. I just went in and started patting her butt and she fell asleepBut now she is sleeping on her tummy! Argh!

What did you do in this situation? She can roll over both ways but I don't know why she freaks out when she wakes up on her tummy.

  • She can roll now.  Leave her on her tummy.

  • She is 6 months old!! For goodness sake, she will most likely be just fine. Most experts agree that once they can roll to their belly, odds are they are fine sleeping that way. Carson has been belly sleeping for naps since 3 months, and for bedtime since 4 months. She sleeps sooooo good this way too
  • Leave her on her tummy. When DD first could roll back to belly she would get to her belly and just cry and cry and cry. After a week of this I decided to soothe her while she was on her belly and it worked, she fell asleep and has been a tummy sleeper ever since. This happened at about 3 months of age.
  • You'd think I was a first time parent wouldn't you? LOL.

I am very nervous because she has never moved positions in the middle of sleeping until 2 days ago. It's new to us.

I don't remember when this happened with my first DD.
