The word 'Binky'

Why does this word bother people?  I remember seeing someone say that in a previous post, and I keep wondering so figured I would ask.

I call it her "suckie" which is even worse but the name stuck and I don't think before I say it!

I would be one of those that don't like it, but honestly I have no clue why. Just dont like the word. DH calls it ba-ba and that drives me nuts as well. It is a pacifier and that is what I call it.

Doesnt bother me but is used to bother DH, he's gotten used to it since thats all I call it!

i normally call it a binky or a pacie....doesnt bother me

We call it a binky... but something that annoys me is when my ILs call a burp cloth a burper diaper.  For some reason it really gets on my nerves.

I dont mind it, but I prefer calling it a paci...DH calls it a ninnie and that sounds perverted to me, lol- I hate it!!

ds' paci has had many names...so binky dosn't bother me.  Now, MIL calls it a "soose" and that bugs me.  Or maybe she bugs me? lol  j/k  What really bugs me is when people call spit up throw up or puke.  They really aren't in the same league imo.

I can't explain, but I don't like it.  I also can't stand 'paci'.  I call it pacifier.  Maybe it's because we don't do a lot of baby talk in our house-drives me nuts.  

I also can't stand preggo but that's another issue.
