When your DC falls asleep in the car...

and it has only been 10-20 minutes so you try to bring them into the house quietly and put them back to bed...do they stay asleep usually or wake up?

DS woke up, yet he barely slept in the car and I know he still has to be so tired. I nursed him and he wanted to stick his pacifier in my mouth and giggle. So I put him in the crib and left. He keeps making a few noises and I hear him banging the pacifier on the crib railing. I think I'll leave him for awhile (or until he cries) and pray that he goes back to bed. Otherwise, it will be a loooooooooong night! =)

  • This always happens to us...its like a cat nap.  The evenings do stink when it happens!

  • unfortunately, even if she is very tired and falls asleep for a couple of minutes in car, she will not fall back to sleep in crib. i usually end of driving around- she naps only 30 min in car and 1.25-1.5 at home. i usually put her to bed alittle earlier to catch up. it does make for a long night though!!

  • He's up and having fun! I should have kept driving around. I'll just make sure we eat dinner early so he can go to bed. Oh boy!
  • Ugh. When DS falls asleep in the car, it's over! There is no way I can transfer him to his room without waking him up, and once he's up, he's up. That's why I am always rushing home before naptime, but the car just lulls him to sleep, and I am like a crazy person singing and talking to him, just to keep him awake!
