NBR: Ugh, MIL just sent me an email, so sad :(

Earlier this week mil's dog passed away.  Sugar was a Boston Terrier who was 15 y/o, just a sweet girl.   H & I have just been heartbroken over this (h lived with his mom for a long time so he was there for 1/2 of Sugar's life). Mil lives 5 hours from us, never married, H is an only child and for the last 7 years it has been only she & Sugar and now she is alone.   She just sent me an email how she thinks she keeps seeing her and hearing her, just the everyday stuff she was used to.

I just feel so bad for her and wish there was something I could do for her.

This really has been a crappy week!

that is so sad losing a pet can be awful i don't know what i'd do if my buddy passed away now... i know when my 10yo cat passed, the best thing i did for myself was get another cat... not to replace him, but just so that the noises in the house, the meowing, the cat/dog chasing, the sunning by the window... i hated those voids... and it helped... not to fill, but rather to help heal... my friend's dog just got hit by a car 3 weeks ago... after a week, she felt ready to go look at puppies and ended up coming home with one... it doesn't make the loss easier, but just like TTCAL helps to busy us and help us be more proactive about our families, having a new pet helps busy you towards giving another animal a wonderful home while dealing with the loss of your old pet... i hope she starts feeling better soon and i am so sorry to you and DH

I know exactly what she's going through.My Dog passed away last friday 2months before her 11th Birthday.My 2 yr old Lab/Chessie keeps acting like her so were going with her spirit is alive and well living through her

I'm so sorry for your loss and happy to see she is still there in spirit in your home.

Im so sorry - I dont know what I would do if something happened to my dogs. Can you take her to a shelter or find a rescue dog for her? I need fur in my house for it to feel like a home.
