We are dealing with MFI and went back to the fertility clinic last night for our "planning session". DH's results from the SA he did just under two weeks ago showed his numbers are not improving. Poor guy has done 4 of these things. His numbers were getting better and then this one went back to pre-treatment numbers. Not good. We have a less than 1% chance conceiving on our own. IUI is not an option.
We will be doing IVF with ICSI. I have to call the the office on CD1 for an ultrasound and then will start with the treatment. Thankfully, when I call on CD1 they schedule us for a "teach session" where we will spend 2 hours going over everything from insurance, procedure, how to administer the injectables, etc. It is all very overwhelming.
Poor DH feels so bad. He keeps saying this is his problem and now I'm the one that has to go through all the procedures, meds, etc. The doctor said don't worry, she won't care once she's pregnant. Thanks doc!
Anyways, DH signed up for this like its some kind of a business arrangment, while for me its a bit more emotional.
We have so many decisions to make and I'm totally overwhelmed. They gave us a huge packet of information that we need to review and agree on certain things before our teach session.
Re: XP: RE Update - IVF with ICSI
I remember being totally overwhelmed with all the info I was given with my first IVF. And the first time we had to do an injection was an agonizingly drawn out process!
But i will tell you, as you go, it will get easier... or at least you'll get used to it. ;-)
that's really great that your DH has been so good with this whole process. Sadly, not all DHs are on board so quickly, especially when it is male factor issues.
I'm sure you two will be a great team and you will have your BFP soon!
good luck!!
Thank you!
You will be so surprised at what you're capable of! It IS overwhelming. When I got my schedule and box of meds, I sat down with a calendar and wrote in what I needed to take each day. I also googled the needle sizes so I knew which were IM and which were for mixing...all the info is out there in case you come home from the training and forget.
Best of luck! You'll be an old pro before you know it.
Because we're fancy like that.
Thanks! Looks like we will be on the same timeline too. I should be starting end of August or so. GL to you!
