Night Wakings-Please help!!

DS goes down very easily on his own at naps and bedtime.  However, he wakes up every 2 hours.  Last night, it was every 1.5 hours, so he could be going through a growth spurt.  He has been up every 2 hours his entire life.

Can I do Ferber for just night wakings since going down isn't a problem?  I have the book coming from the library, but it isn't in yet. Plus, I just don't know that I can let him cry when I know he's so tiny and he really is hungry-it's not just comfort sucking.

Do you think that he really DOES need to eat?  He's only 13 lbs, 12 oz.

Right now, this isn't a huge deal because I'm not working, but I go back 8/27 so we need to figure this out!

ETA:  He does get solids-cereal and a veggie right before bed.

If he's breast fed, yeah, he easily could be hungry.  Especially if he's that tiny.  My 9 month old, almost 22 lb boy still eats 1-2 times a night.

If you really need to wean him at night, I'd suggest trying to stretch out feedings gradually, like a few minutes each night and see if that works.
