Question for Mommies who wait tables

Hey Ladies,

I'm considering going back to waiting tables a few nights a week after LO is born since I can work a small amount of hours and still make a decent amount of money.  I was just wondering, for any of you doing this who are bfing how do you handle pumping while you work?  Its not exactly like you can ignore your tables for 15 minutes while you sneak out back and pump. Any suggestions?  Are engorgement or low milk supply big problems in this case?

I really appreciate your advice ladies!

Re: Question for Mommies who wait tables

  • I work two dinner shifts a week and thats it. I pump right before I leave and as soon as I get home and I am fine. Saturday nights are my longer of the two shifts and I spoke with management and they plan to allow me to pump once we are no longer on a wait, and another waitress will watch my tables for me. My supply as not suffered at all.

  • I worked a few times early on when I was still EPing and I just waiting til I got home - I made sure I pumped before work and immedietly afterwards .. it wasnt bad.

The shift was only 4-5 hours tho!
