This could be a dumb question, sorry. I've seen some ladies here with long LPs (18 days +). I've also had a few of those since going on Clomid. I keep forgetting to ask my RE but does a long LP signal a problem like a short one does?
not normally unless you have constant spotting throughout it or inconsistently long and short. Your lp length is suppose to be the same length within a day or so each cycle.
Oh crap. Mine ranges from 15 to 19 days. I guess I'll have to mention this to my RE when I go in for my next consult. Just what I need - another "issue".
I had a 13 or 14 day LP for my first 10 cycles of charting & now they're 16 or 17 days long. I wonder if it's because of my stressing myself out about now seeing an RE? I dunno. I'll be interested in hearing what your RE says. GL!

Mine range from 13-15, but it doesn't hurt to mention it. Most people worry when their's is too short, so I don't think it will be that much of an issue. It is more of a guessing game for you about when your cycle will end if it is not consistent.
I had fairly long luteul phases when i first started charting (17 days), but since I've been working with a naturopath they've gone down to 14-15 days. She wasn't concerned about them, just said they were 'unusual'. My RE never even asked.
I do remember reading in TCOYF (awhile ago!) that consistently long luteual phases of greater than 18 days (and no pregnancy) could be a sign that the egg is getting 'stuck' in the follicle, so even though it seems like you're ovulating with increasing temps, you're not. I think this is pretty rare though. But may be good to mention it to your RE anyways...
