One of our fav outfits for DD is a brown/cream stripe with monkeys. I don't mind that people don't know her gender, but I was amazed when someone argued that it was "boy clothes." Come on, brown is the definition of neutral!
I also realized one day when DD was wearing a plain blue onesie that "Maeve" sounds like "Dave" - adding to the confusion! Now I make sure to use SHE/HER pronouns.
LOL, I used to feel bad when people mistook her gender, like I wasn't doing something right, until someone kept refering her as a boy when she was wearing a ruffly and flowery outfit and wrapped in a pink blanket! Some people just aren't paying attention.

Ugh I hate that. I was in Target the other day and a guy with a little GIRL asked if DD was a boy/girl. Um hello pink poka dot carseat, bow in hair, pink clothes, you freaking tell me you idiot
Re: 4 people called Madeline "he" solely b/c she was wearing brown
I'd rather someone asked than assume.
my angel babies: 6/10 (chem. pg), 9/10 @ 10 weeks
I get people asking me all the time... "he or she?"
Well he never wears anything but blues, greens, browns, etc. not to mention his carseat is blue... hmmm... what do u think?
Very true...
According to my grandmother brown isn't a baby color in general and she complained to my mother that I dressed my son in brown. *eye roll*
I've seen plenty of girl clothes in brown.
Ha.. DD is dressed in all baby blue today. Granted, it does have white polka dots and a pink heart on her onesie... but it is blue.
