I'm confused

DS was born January 9th, so today he is 7 months old. I just noticed my ticker shows he is 6 months 4 weeks old. Why is that?

    If he was born January 9th, then he is 7 months on August 9th.  Today is the 6th.

    Oh, I've been around long enough to know better than that. That will get even more attention brought to it. What can I say? I forgot my kid's birthday. Even worse, I typed it right the first time then changed my mind. I'm so messed up. I blame it on lack of sleep. Can I do that?
