I started spotting Sunday. My doctor found my blighted ovum Tuesday. They did blood work at that same time. The nurse called me the next day and said my numbers were still so high that my body is just starting the process of miscarrying. She made it sound like it should happen any day. So far, I am just spotting. I plan on going back to work Monday and had hoped this would be done by then. I know that sounds horrible, but I am just ready to be able to start again. Most of all I want to have some closure. Does any one know if there is anything to be done besides a D&C? I really want to avoid that, but this limbo is probably the worst part. Thanks ladies.

Re: Should I call my doctor?
There is another option. It is a vaginal suppository called misoprostol. It should speed things up. However it does not always work. But it is an option. You should ask your Dr. about it to see if it is an option for you.
I'm very sorry for your loss. GL

Some doctors are amenable to a medically managed miscarriage - you are given a drug called misoprostol. Standard dose is about 800 mg vaginally. Generally, within 3-6 hours you begin bleeding and by 12-24 hours you complete the miscarriage. If this is something that interests you, call and ask about it -- but please be sure to request pain medication as well. My doctor gave me percocet and told me to take Advil with it.
PM me if you have more questions. I've talked about it a lot on the board over the past several weeks, so you can look back at my other posts too.
