if your lo sleeps in their crib...

Do they just wear a sleeper to bed?

Dds crib will be here saturday, and since she has been sleeping with us, covers included, I want to make sure she is warm enough.

At what point can they start sleeping with covers?

Thanks.

  • DD just wears a sleeper. She doesn't like covers anyway, so she'll scoot out of a blanket regardless.

  • Ellie sleeps in a onsie right now - it gets pretty warm upstairs in our house despite running the A/C all night. She gets swaddled under her arms, so the blanket covers her legs but it's usually kicked off in the middle of the night. Once it gets cooler we'll put her in sleepers and/or those fleece sleep sacks. It's not that I worry about having blankets on her, I just know she will kick them off and then she won't be warm.

  • We had a blanket on him until about three days ago.  I went into the nursery in the morning and asked DH why he swaddled him.  He said he didn't.  Somehow DS got himself all wrapped up in it.  That was enough for me.  I just have a sleeper on him and he seems fine with it.
  • We keep our house fairly warm, so DS sleeps in a onesie with a swaddle cloth over his legs and belly only.  When it gets cooler, I'll probably move him to a warmer sleeper.  He loves to pull blankets over his face, so I won't put any in his crib at night.
  • We do a sleeper and swaddle.  When he gets older we will do a sleeper and sleep sack.  He will not get a loose baby blanket with him until around a year, as that is what we did with DD.  We waited until we knew she was able to pull a blanket off her face without getting "lost" under it.

  • We usually just have her in her little feet pajamas and she is fine. She is hot blooded though I swear! She is always warm! Not sure what we will do in the winter. I'm not sure when blankets are ok. I know if you tuck them into the side of the crib the hospital told us it was ok.
  • Typically DD wears a sleeper and we "swaddle" her with her arms out. If it's chilly, then we put another blanket over her from the waist down. We recently had a heat wave and she wore a onesie or just a diaper under her swaddle. We try to dress and cover her like we do for ourselves. DD used to sleep with us under the covers too, and this seems to keep her happy.

  • Just sleepers for ds or a onesie if it's really really hot.  Sometimes thicker ones sometimes thinner ones.  I don't know when they can have covers.
