Insurance covering CD?

We have a flex spending account and I'm wondering if CD would be covered. I saw where is said diapers are generally not covered unless a doctor thinks it's medically necessary. Well DS gets horrible diaper rash and excema when we put a disposable on him. When he wears CD it goes away and it doesn't irritate him. Would it hurt to call the Flex Spending account and tell them the doctor recommended we use CD on him and to get a doctors note to send in and see if they would cover them? WDYT?

  • Couldn't hurt to try!

  • I'd try it!  I know someone here had an insurance company reimburse them for a certain # of diapers because they had similar problems with disposables.

  • I would at least give it a try.  A flex spending account is your money, right?  I know my insurance covers a breast pump up to $300.
  • Definitely try it!

  • Talk to jenni when she gets back. She got her insurance company to reimburse her for maybe 30+ diapers because Saxon gets really bad reactions to disposables. I know she had to get the doctor to write a note saying it was medically necessary or something.

I'm glad you remembered who it was.  I knew someone on here had to do that, but couldn't for the life of me think who it was!
